SANTA CLAUS! Yay! Logan wasn't quite sure what to think of Santa. It was really cool though because he came in to town on the Coast Guard Boat and we met him on the pier. Santa and boats? Weird. But it was so much fun!!!

I think she is the prettiest thing in the whole wide world. She LOVES to climb and be "puphigh", or up high. She climbs everywhere. She has even started trying to climb up the wall while she is in the bathtub. Crazy lady! We like her a lot.
She got stuck under the cabinet and couldn't figure out how to get unstuck. She just hadn't walked out far enough to miss the cabinet. This is her face. She looks like she's crying, but she's mad! So she's screaming. Love her.

Logan LOVES to go outside and play with her daddy and her Puppy! She could be out there all day and not want to come in. She has so much fun!

One of her very favorite things to do in the world is swinging! She could be in the swing for hours and not get bored! She has almost fallen asleep in her swing a couple of times! It's really cute!
This is our back step. She sits down on it and then asks each of us to come sit next to her. It's really hard for me to sit down there because I'm not quite as agile as I once was and it's QUITE low to the ground!
I can't handle this picture! I think it's so stinking cute! She has started really cheesin' it when we ask her to smile for the camera. I LOVE it!

I think I am just going to go ahead and post a whole bunch of pictures on here. It's been way too long since my last post. Sorry I've lost touch with my blogging world lately. I will be better from here on out. I promise!

I just got this video from my dad in an email and it struck me. I think as a Military wife, myself, I often forget that ANY sacrifice, even mine, counts as a sacrifice for OUR country and OUR rights. I can't get over how proud I have been to be able to support our Military as a wife of an Airman and now Seaman. My heart fills with admiration and love every time someone remembers the sacrifices made in every way, small and large. We are all so blessed to live in this free country. I am proud to be a part of what keeps it free and safe. God Bless.

So, I took Logan and Mya, our horse, I mean dog, down to the beach this morning to let them run off some energy. I love the beach. Enough said. However, I do look out at the Ocean and it is somehow odd to me how it can be both extremely terrifying and very calming at the same time. Today, while we were out there, it was either high tide, or Newport is slipping into the Ocean a lot more quickly than I had originally thought. Which means, we will be vacating and moving inland as soon as possible. Anyhow, I look at the magnificent ocean and can't help but know that God loves me. The Earth, with all of it's functional parts, everything working together to fulfill God's divine purposes, mountains and valleys, oceans and dry earth, desserts and rain forests. Does it seem distinct to anyone else how a loving Heavenly Father made everything not only FUNCTIONAL, but breath takingly BEAUTIFUL? We live just off of the Pacific Coast Highway, which, in my opinion, is one of the most beautiful stretches of pavement in the entire world. If any of you are familiar with at least the Oregon Coast, you know of it's majestic nature and awe inspiring beauty. You honestly have the best of both worlds here. You have the gorgeous woods and mountainy areas and all the camping, fishing and hunting you could ask for. Then just across the street, you have the Ocean. With it's rugged cliffs and striking beaches. I love it here. You should come visit. There is truly so much to see and experience. The wind has been incredible here the last few days! I heard somewhere that we were expected to have gusts of 95 MPH! That's insane! I love sitting in my house, listening to the rain. It's so calming to go to bed at night and here it falling right above my head outside our window. You can't ask for anything better. Okay, maybe a fireplace would be nice to curl up in front of. Our TV just doesn't generate that warmy feeling quite like a fire... Newport. I love you. Thank you for being here. Ocean, you are amazing. Thank you for letting me feel your breezes and watch your waves. Adam, thank you for bringing me here. I love it. And you. Logan, thank you for giving me a reason to get up and out of the house this morning and every morning. Mya, thank you for NOT attacking those dogs this morning like I thought you were going to. My Veteran, on Veteran's Day.

Today is Veteran's Day. Well, for the next 23 minutes, it is. I'm a little late in getting this up. But I wanted to take a minute and thank MY Veteran. We have been in the military together now for going on four years. Well, 3.5, I guess is more accurate. We've been through trainings, getting married, having a baby, deployments, long hours, time apart, switching branches, more training, more time apart, moving, unpacking, packing and a whole bunch of stuff that we could write a book on. I love this guy. He sometimes wonders why. But I do. I love him!! He goes to work and sometimes wonders why he does. It's hard. He is pushed and challenged and forced to think outside his box. But he does it. He does it for me. He does it for Logan! And he does it for our future children. He gets seasick. But goes out on the boat, anyway. He spends a lot of time away from us. That's hard on him. But he is trying to make it work. We all are. We love him. We loved the Air Force and all the opportunities it afforded us there. The banquets, the friends we made, the BBQ's and Christmas parties! We loved it all. And here in the Coast Guard, we love it, too! We have friends from everywhere! The sacrifice of a service person is almost always high. Military can be hard on families and relationships. Adam and I have seen our share of struggles and trials and have tried to come out on top. It's not been easy. Military is taxing, even when they are not "deployed." It's a demanding job and often exhausting. But those inside do it because they LOVE it. They LOVE protecting you. And me. And our freedoms and rights as we know them now. So when you hear the stories of servicemen and women, listen for an extra minute or two. Their stories are truly amazing. They are, each and every single one of them, heroes. Next time you hear the jets over your house, look up and think about the person flying it. And be thankful. I love my Veteran. I love supporting him. I love supporting all these men and women I know! Adam, thank you for being so amazing and so supportive of me. You are so strong, though you may not think so. I know you are. I love you and all you stand for. Don't forget that. And thanks for being My Veteran! Happy Veteran's Day, Baby!

This may seem like a silly post. I think Logan looks so big in this picture. She is watching her favorite Elmo movie and just lounging on the couch. It makes me crazy to think of my baby being this big. She is talking like a big kid now and she and I have great conversations. She is my little sidekick and we do everything together. I am so in love with this little munchkin. My heart aches with love for her. Watching her grow has been a joy I cannot describe and I can't wait for every little stage and phase of her life to come and have more great experiences with my little sidekick. I love her.

For Halloween here in Newport, we went to the Aquarium. Logan LOVES the Aquarium! And now that she is just a little bit older, she really enjoys wandering and really looking and exploring. It is so much fun to see her eyes light up when she sees something exciting to her. We love watching her discover!!
Seriously, this starfish was HUGE!!! I couldn't believe it, and I think Logan was pretty taken back too. She didn't want to walk away.
The seal was sooo cute! SEAL is one of Logan's new words lately, so she was really excited to have one come right up to her at the window. They were so cute playing in the water and coming up to the window. It was fun to see.
Hi. Does anyone else want this guy on your plate? I saw him, and I was like, Whoa... He would be so yummy! It sounds so horrible, but I LOVE CRAB!!! And this guy certainly took the cake! We had such a great time on Halloween at the Aquarium. I can't wait til we can get a membership and we can go whenever we want!!!

The other evening, we took our dog Mya out to the Beach to run around. The tide was coming and going and just about getting us! But we perched on a big bunch of rocks and just watched it forever. It was so nice! Logan LOVES the Beach! We are so blessed to be here and to be able to enjoy such amazing experiences like this one. And I am so blessed with such a wonderful little family to call my own. Heavenly Father loves me.

I have to now edit that last post. Adam and I have decided to give it one more shot! I have moved back to Oregon and we are picking up the pieces. It has been a ROLLER COASTER ride of emotions, fear, uncertainty and now excitement. After a lot of fasting, and a lot of prayer, we know THIS is where WE are supposed to be. There have been rough times, and at times it felt like Hell, but we now more fully understand the covenants we entered into when we were sealed in God's Holy Temple. We love and appreciate each and every single one of you for your love and support through our struggles, and thank you all for hanging on for dear life for each one of our UPs and DOWNs! We will keep you updated, and I am SOOO sorry for not keeping up on this blog thing better, and even my facebook. I have been INTERNETLESS since moving back to Utah. But I am now entirely RE-connected!! Yay! We love you all!!

Logan LOVES her kitty, Oliver! She loves to carry him around wherever she goes. She usually does pretty well, but sometimes he wriggles and she loses her grip, but won't let go, so we end up with an intervention situation. :) He is a good, patient kitty.

Okay, so my brother and his wife were here for about ten days or so and we did some pretty fun things. One thing I have been DYING to do since we moved here was to find out how to get down to this beach that I had seen from a distance a whole bunch of seals out sun bathing. Well, we did it! We are literally like less than 100 feet away from these seals on this beach! It was so much fun. We are not sure if it was legal to go down there, no one else was on that beach. But I think it's just cuz it's SUPER hard to get to! It's quite a hike down and around the beach. Logan actually fell asleep in my arms. That was a WORKOUT!!! But it was all totally WORTH IT beacuse LOOK!! There are SEALS right there!!! They had their cute eyes on us the whole time! We thought they were planning our ambush attack from the water behind, but we survived. Phwew!! Anyway, we LOVE NEWPORT!

I think I am going to try this recipe I found. I will let you know how it turns out. . .

Ingredients:
1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
1 egg
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 1/2 cups strawberries, slicedCrumb Topping:
1/2 cup flour
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup butter
Preparation:Sift together the 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add milk, egg, and melted butter; beat 2 minutes. Spoon batter into a greased and floured 8-inch square baking pan. Top with sliced strawberries. Combine 1/2 cup flour, 1/3 cup brown sugar, and 1/2 tsp cinnamon; cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle crumb topping over the strawberries. Bake at 375° for 30 to 35 minutes. Serves 8.

I'm a bit taken back. I put my baby in a big girl bed yesterday. Well, I'm a bit late because last night was her first night in her big girl bed. But I still count her age in months. Three hands and one finger. That's not enough for a big bed is it? I don't know what I was thinking but all I know is that we'd better fill the crib back up soon or I might have a relapse! I don't know what I will be relapsing, seeing as I have never really -lapsed- before, but I thought relapse would be a fun word. I think I will go ahead and put her in her crib tonight. . . Just teasing. She is my little adult baby. I don't know where the time has gone. I waited my whole life to be a mom and to have a baby and now my baby is an adult. Sort of. Compared to when she was born, yeah!! Gosh. I'm having a hard time with this. I need another one. Shhhh. . .don't tell Adam! He thinks I'm silly. Oh well. Anyway, I just thought I'd let you know about our recent advancement. Sad, but true! We love her so much!!!! That's not sad, but what I blogged about. Not really sad, nostalgic? I'm going now. :)

TEETH!!!! YAY! Do you see those two cute little teeth my Lola has on the bottom row? They are about to have company!!! We have been waiting SO LONG for her to get more teeth! The other night she WAS NOT sleeping at all and I was so confused. She usually wakes up a few times at night, yeah, but this night she was up for like hours and I couldn't get her back to sleep without holding her and rocking her. She has only teethed once in her life, so it wasn't the first thing I thought of. Until the next morning when she was chewing on something and it came to me! I looked at her gums and sure enough! Her two big front top teeth are making their slow descent into functionality! We are very proud of her! And finally yesterday, they BROKE THROUGH!!! WAHOO! So, I had to take a picture of her cute smile now and I will post one later with more teeth!

Okay, so I have been called as the Primary Secretary in our ward here in Oregon. I'm super excited because the rest of the presidency is made of a lot of the women I have already met and have become friends with. So that makes it nice. Anyway, today I went in to kind of figure out what I was doing and try to learn the kids names for the roll and such. Shouldn't be super hard, I'm pretty good with names and there aren't tons of kids in our ward. So, Im trying to talk to the first counselor and Logan is squirming everywhere all over my lap. The horror begins. Do I let her off my lap to run wild in the primary room and become on of those mothers I can't handle? Do I hold her on my lap and continue grunting as the sister and I chat and Logan steps on my full bladder? What do I do? So I let her down for a few minutes. That quickly became totally pointless because then I kept having to go return other kids' shoes she had brought to me and put on my lap. Anyhow, the sister I was chatting with went to the nursery room to take roll while I "held down the fort." She wanted to leave me with a task, can you tell? :) When she came back a few minutes later, she whispered in my ear, "They only have 3 kids in nursery today and said that you are more than welcome to take her in there if you would like." I don't think I let her finish her sentence before I was scooping up Logan and heading to the nursery. I have been DYING to take her to the nursery because she is SOOOOO wriggly and non-stop all through church. I often wonder why I bother getting ready and going to church in the first place sometimes! So, she walked right in and started playing with the kids and toys, which I knew she would do. I walked right out and back to the primary room and I think I may have had a slight bounce in my step... It was a great moment. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Logan, but she is exhausting and I love it when either Adam is watching her (who by the way was on duty today and not just slacking on his fatherly duties:)) or I can let her play and not worry about being a mom who just lets her kids do whatever and doesn't watch. Oh, I love nursery. I may have to send her back next week. I might even start getting up earlier on Sundays and looking even better because now I know it may not be in vain! Maybe I'll even wait to have two. . .JUST TEASING!!! Anyway, I had to blog about that. Enjoy your Sunday folks. Oh, yeah, she is asleep. I think I may go take a nap. We took Logan down to Salt Lake on the day after Thanksgiving to watch them turn on the lights and the big Christmas tree at the Gateway. It was really fun! She was so involved with everything that was going on around her, I don't think she even noticed that it was cold!!!!!

These pictures tell so much! This is when we were waiting for Adam to come home and watching for him in the hangar. They didn't let us go out and watch them land like they do when the guys come back from places like Iraq. I was also slightly bummed, because the guys flew home on a commercial plane, so they are in their civis! It doesn't look like he's a military man, it just looks like he went away for a little but! My baby misses her Daddy!!! This was the stinkin cutest thing in the whole world! I put our wedding video on to see what she would do. She stared and stared and stared. I discovered this thing online called Shutterfly. It's a place where you can store pictures and get pictures printed and sent right to your house, and also digital scrapbooking stuff! It's so fun! I had a coupon for a bunch of free stuff for my first purchase and this is one of them! It's a poster 11' x 14'. It's so cute! I got a bunch of pictures printed of Logan and her Daddy to put in a cute little frame that is actually a teether. It has these little plastic sections that protect the pictures and she can chew on it and look at the pictures! It's my way of helping her remember Daddy! She loves it! Anyway, this is for Daddy. I hope he likes it! Love you honey! Hurry home!

I think I could go crazy today. Would you like to come with me? Hehe. I have a huge pile of laundry and dishes in my sink. But today, I chose to hang out with my little Logan. We had so much fun! We stayed here most of the day. And now, I am sitting here, blogging, looking at my apartment thinking, why didn't I take better advantage of her naptime? I wanted to just do nothing. She keeps me SO stinking busy. I watch Jon and Kate plus Eight a lot and I love it! But I just don't know how she does it! I can hardly keep up with my one, let alone 6 of the same age! Holy cow! But, really, there is nothing better than being a mom. I would not trade it for anything in the world. However, I have decided that I am going to take up kickboxing. Merely to save my sanity! I sometimes get so much on my brain that I need to get some energy out! And, hey, baby weight doesn't just melt after you give birth, ya know!!! Okay, maybe for some people, but not for me!!! I have goals. Dreams. Oh how I'd love to get skinny before pregnant again! Okay, I'm gonna go to bed now. Adam, if you read this, I love you so much and I can't wait to kiss your face again! We had such a fun day today! We had a couple of errands to run this morning, and then we just came home and hung out! I love Mommy-Lola time!!! It's so great! We miss you Daddy!!!!

Is this not the funniest thing?! She has ATTITUDE written all over her face! She is getting so big I just can't handle it. She does so much stuff on her own. Except for put herself to sleep. She is upstairs right now "putting herself to sleep." I absolutely HATE letting her just cry and cry but what else can I do when she is so exhausted and just WON'T go to sleep!? She is so confusing some days. It breaks my heart, though, to just sit here and listen to her. It's not like I have a ton of space where I can go, like, to the basement or something and not hear her! My little puppy dog!!!! We dressed little Lola up as a cute little puppy dog for Halloween tonight. I hurried and got some pictures on here so Daddy could see them as soon as he wakes up tomorrow morning! She was so cute!!! We had a couple of little wardrobe malfunctions, so it wasn't exactly how we thought it was going to be but it was so cute still!!!!! Oh, she is so cute! This is her favorite game!!!! She is trying to climb up the pillows to get away from the monster growling below her!!! It's the stinking cutest thing you've ever seen in your entire life because she is so intense and this game just lasts and lasts and lasts! You would think she would just collapse but she doesn't! This surprised me today. I looked over at her and she had pulled herself all the way up to standing at the couch! She has needed help before. She would try to do it herself and get frustrated so I would go try to show her. Usually ending up pushing her up on the couch and playing her new favorite game of "Run from the monster." In which, she tries to climb up the gigantic pillows on our couch to get away from the monster (Mommy) who is growling at her feet. It's so funny because sometimes, I won't even growl, but she'll look at me and scream and try to climb up the pillows anyhow. I love this game! It's usually what we play at night when I am trying to wear her out for bed. It usually only ends up wearing me out!!! But it's a lot of fun and she is so in to it!!!!

Look how big I am Daddy!!!! Logan loves to show off all her new talents! She can crawl, pull herself up on things and loves to just play and play and play! This little girl NEVER STOPS GOING!!! It cracks me up! And it also wears me out! She loves looking in the mirror, anywhere she finds one she will just stare! Now she talks to the girl in the mirror and laughs and carries on. It's so fun to watch! Lola LOVES stuffed animals! Anything! She loves bears, giraffes, her Tigger, just about anything soft and loveable! It's the cutest thing to see her cuddle up to a teddy bear at night to go to bed!

So I'm the worst ever!!! My cute husband is three bazillion miles away from us and I haven't put any pictures up here yet! I'm in so much trouble! I have tried to post a couple of videos and they are WAY too big and were taking literally an hour to upload, so I gave up! I am making him a promise tonight that tomorrow morning, when she wakes up and I go in to get her, I will have my camera in hand and I will capture that precious moment and then I will not let the camera out of my sight until he gets home! So, um, my cute little husband is going away for a few weeks and I don't know quite what to do with myself. It's weird cuz it's always been in the future and I haven't had to worry about it so I think I just subconsciously told myself that it wasn't going to happen. All of a sudden this weekend is an awful lot closer than I ever wanted it to be! I mean, I guess the quicker it comes, the quicker it goes, right? He'll be gone for six weeks to a classified location and I have no idea what kind of communication we will be able to have!! I know they will have email but I will miss his handsome comforting voice so much. I think of how much Logan is going to change and it chokes me up!! But we will make it and we are so lucky that it's not longer this time!!! I'm just going to be sitting here Sunday afternoon licking my wounds and wanting him to quit the Air Force as soon as he gets back. Those of you who know what I'm going thru I know you have wonderful words for me and I would love to hear them!!! I will most likely be blogging a lot more in the coming weeks!! Wish me luck!!!!

We took Logan to the Zoo yesterday!!! It was so much fun! Adam's Mom and Sister were here from Ohio so we decided to head up to the Zoo. She wasn't super interested in the animals but loved being outside and walking around. She is the happiest little baby and loves anything and everything! It's so fun to watch her learn and grow and experience new things around her. She is so fun!!! We are the luckiest parents in the whole world!!!

My husband is wonderful. He just received a promotion in the Air Force. He is now what they call a Senior Airman. Instead of just an Airman. I am so proud of him! As tradition in the Air Force, Logan and I got to go up with him when his name was read and he walked across the stage. That was a very special time for me because I wasn't able to go the last time because I was not yet a spouse. So, I've been waiting a while! Anyway, as tradition is, the spouse, or whomever is giving the promotion, another stripe on his sleeve, gets to punch it on his sleeve. The put tape on the back of it so it will stick. When we punched it on, I helped little Logan punch on her Daddy's new promotion. It was very fun. Both Adam and I were very nervous. I don't do well in front of people and he was both nervous and excited, I'm sure! He had to remember to salute when he left the stage!!! He was scared to forget, which I can totally understand, it's almost a crime to not salute someone you're supposed to salute in the military!! When we're out and he salutes, I always get worried like, "am I supposed to salute, too?!" Oh no!!!! It's fun! Anyway, WAY TO GO DADDY!!!! We are so proud of you!! Love, Jenn and Lola

I have the cutest baby in the whole entire world. Last night my sister in law and I were giving her a bath and she was so hyper!!! She loves the bubbles in her bath and will lean way over and try to eat them! It's so funny! I just hope that the baby shampoo companies have taken into consideration that there will be crazy babies out there in the world like mine who will want to eat their products. He will be 27 on the 15th of October!! yayayay!!

OH definitely me. . .unless you consider fruit sweets. Then he does for sure!

Nobody, that's why I have to be smart at shopping. . .Just kidding. We sort of both do, if at all!!!

Adam thinks it is so funny that now that Logan is moving all over the crib when she sleeps and has decided that she really loves sleeping on her tummy with her face smashed into the bed. Her face used to be so perfect when she woke up back when she was sleeping only on her back. You couldn't ever tell when she had just woken up. Now she wakes up with a smashed face and BEDHEAD!!! It's so cute! She is still the happiest little baby in the morning. It really baffles Mommy and Daddy!!

Okay. I have some goals. I always heard with having a baby, it's nine months on, nine months off. Well, I am quickly approaching that second nine month mark where it should just all fall off, right? I'm losing hope that it will just fall off at the nine month mark. So, I'm enlisting the help of all my girlie friends who have had babies to help me in my journey. Well, even my girlie friends who haven't had babies, I just know it's way different after you have the little treasures! Here's how it goes. I need to lose 20 lbs by the first part of December. Adam has an awards banquet every year and it's formal. I want to be able to get a new outfit and look and feel really great in it! That will be a really big accomplishment for me!! My ultimate goal is to have lost 40 lbs by beginning of summer next year. And I want to do it safely and healthily so that it stays off and I can maintain it! I've had troubles with my back and I want to lick them before they lick me! I want to get into the best shape I have ever been in so I can do the things I love to do without risking my back. I don't want to stop doing things I love just because I have a bad back. So, I'm ready to start managing my back and strengthening it but I need a little supervision. I just need you to help me make sure I do it! My cute husband, bless his heart, wants to support me but is so afraid to hurt my feelings. At this point, the only thing that is going to hurt my feelings is not being able to do the things I want to do!!! So help me! What are your secrets, what advice do you have? What kinds of things have you found, simple or hard, that have helped you curb the appetite and not just snack? I think that's my biggest problem. I love to snack! We were up at Bear Lake and if any of you were watching the weather reports, yeah, we got rained out!!! Luckily, we had a couple with us who had a trailor. We all ended up in there!! My baby is pretty much the cutest thing in the whole world! She loves cameras but doesn't quite know what to do yet! We have so much fun with her. She keeps us laughing all the time! She is finally rolling over and the other day she ate the whole tip of a banana! I mashed it up, of course. She is growing up so fast. I can't believe how quickly it goes. One of my favorite parts of the day is when I put her to bed. She falls asleep easily in my arms as I rock her in the rocking chair and I get to just stare at her. She is the most precious thing I have ever seen!!!

So we went a couple of Saturdays ago to take some family pictures. My brother and sister-in-law came up from Salt Lake to take them. We got a FLAT TIRE!!! It ended up just being the stems, I can't remember the name for them right now. Anyway, it was an easy fix!!!!! This is a funny story. My mom and I were going to take a trip down to see my Granny in Midvale. I thought I would dress Logan really cute and take some pictures of her with her Great Granny. Well, on the way down, she completely pooped all down her legs and everywhere!!! We have been really lucky to not have many experiences like that so I wasn't prepared with another outfit. Thus the naked baby with a bow on her head. She really liked life a lot better naked!!! She's so fun!

So, um, this is the little car I bought right when I got home from my mission. I mean, like, 3 days after I got home. We are trying to sell it now because we are pretty much just outgrowing it and we need another safer car. We had a guy interested in it a couple of weeks ago and when Adam went to show it, I got really sad. I didn't think I had become so attached to it. I mean, it's a car for Heaven's sake!!! But it's my car. My first car. Oh, it was traumatic. He didn't end up buying it. Which was a relief to me because I get to see it in our little parking stall for a little bit longer. But it's also not such a relief to my cute husband who knows that the longer it sits in OUR stall, the longer we are responsible for paying for the imminent repairs!!! Thank you, The Tiki. You have been such a great car!

She is the happiest first thing in the morning when we go to get her out of her crib. That is when we see her biggest, brightest smiles, which is not something she inherited from either of us, because neither of us is smiling early in the morning!
